The DALLAS CITYSCAPE Summer Exhibit Was a Success!

The 2013 DALLAS CITYSCAPE summer exhibit was the most successful yet.

With 6,299 patrons visiting the exhibit and more than $63,000 raised through sponsorships and donations solely benefiting East Dallas Community Schools (EDCS), it’s fair to say this exhibit was a success.

“We couldn’t be happier with the support we get through DALLAS CITYSCAPE,” said Stuart Williams, Director of Development for EDCS.

Learning Lab Construction Completed and Students Now Being Served

The new Learning Lab building at the Lindsley Park campus is complete and services are now beginning in special education, dyslexia and reading and math interventions.

“The students feel really special having their own space to go,” said Emily Gomez, a special education instructor.  “They know that this new building is somewhere just for them, and it’s increasing their eagerness to learn.”

Stability is important to children, especially to those who are struggling in certain areas.  As far as a stabilized and safe environment where learning can thrive, this new learning lab offers just that.

Prior to the learning lab being built, these services were given in space as it was available.  On any day, services could be in the school conference room or another room depending on availability.

But that has all changed now.
