School Director

Lumin Lindsley Park Community School is a public charter Montessori school with a mission  to transform education by starting young, involving parents, and creating learning environments to inspire children from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds. Our school serves 185 children, ages 3 to 9, with a staff of 25. The School Director will have leadership and organizational skills, as well as a vision that is consistent with the school’s mission and Montessori pedagogy.  The director reports directly to the Executive Director of Lumin Education and serves on the leadership team.

Requirements: AMI certification and minimum five years of classroom instruction in an AMI school with demonstrated leadership responsibilities.

Experience in a Montessori public charter school preferred.

Development Associate

Summary:

The Development Associate is responsible for providing staff support to the Lumin Development Department by managing the donor database system, managing and submitting grant applications and reports for contracts with state and federal agencies, depositing and documenting donations from donors, creating correspondence to donors, generating department reports, and assisting other members of the department in fundraising activities on an as-needed basis.

The Development Associate will serve as the primary contact for grant contracts with federal and state agencies by submitting grant applications and reports for the following funding sources: charter funds, federal title funds, and early head start funds.

Primary Work Site:         Lumin East Dallas Community School, 924 Wayne Street, Dallas 75223

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Manage and update the donor database system (enter data, create queries, generate reports, track donations)
  • Prepare deposits of cash, check, in-kind, and credit card donations and generate correspondence for staff in response to donations
  • Serve as primary contact for current contracts for federal and state agencies including title funds, charter funds, and early head start funds
  • Manage and submit grant applications and expenditure reports for current contracts with state and federal agencies
  • Keep abreast of all deadlines and information needed for grant submission
  • Assist with private grant research and submission
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Education/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Solid computer skills; Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required
  • Experience with databases (Access or Raiser’s Edge preferred)
  • Good research/writing/proofreading skills
  • Extremely detail-oriented
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Commitment to mission of organization
  • Experience with internet-based fundraising and research a plus
  • Experience managing government grants preferred
  • 1-2 years of nonprofit experience preferred
