Facilities Specialist reports to the Facilities Coordinator and is responsible for preventive maintenance, plumbing, electrical, building repair, grounds maintenance, various requests for two school campuses located in East Dallas and support of a third campus as needed. Duties include inspection of classrooms, grounds (mowing, edging, ect), safety/licensing compliance and inventory/stocking of supplies. The job requires knowledge of plumbing, electrical, fire, safety codes, as well as operational knowledge of powered lawn equipment, and shop tools. The Office Coordinator will report to and support the Lumin Bachman Lake Director. This position will assist with organizing, data entry, providing customer service and meeting assistance as well as other duties as assigned. The position requires a high comfort level with multitasking in a fast-paced environment; computer proficiency; ability to determine priorities and ability to handle and know confidential information. The Facilities Coordinator is responsible for the managing, planning, construction and maintenance of equipment, machinery, buildings, telephone equipment and other facilities. Perform, coordinate, and supervise duties of maintenance personnel and contract custodial staff, including the review and evaluation of work assignments for completion and compliance; make recommendations for improvements and modifications. Develop budgets for buildings, grounds, maintenance, custodial services, safety, supplies, and vehicle fleet supplies and equipment as well as maintain safety, utility, and appearance of the facilities. Act as liaison to security, fire alarm service, pest control service, and other providers. Responsible for working with the City of Dallas and any consultants on zoning and permits. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, and at least two years in facility management required. Must be able to handle multiple tasks, be highly organized, and familiarity with telecommunications equipment, and Microsoft office software. Supervisory skills a plus. Responsible for the administration of the early childhood program , including program design and management, oversight of record-keeping and monitoring systems and development of community partnerships. Work in collaboration with Executive Director, program consultants/managers and community agencies to deliver services. Must meet requirements per Federal Head Start Performance Standards and any local, state and or agency policies and procedures. Must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of five years professional leadership/management and supervisory experience preferably in an educational non-profit.
