Volunteering

Lumin Education plans to have on-campus volunteer opportunities in Fall 2021.  We can’t wait to see your smiling faces back on our campuses.  Please check back here for future on-site volunteer opportunities.

Lumin Education has off-site crafting activities such as making materials for our classroom teachers and parent educators.

For more information, please contact the Lumin Development Office, media@lumineducation.org, or 214.964.0500 Ext. 244.

Crafting Activities

The earliest years of childhood are the most important for physical, emotional and intellectual development.  To help teach parents to be “their child’s first, best teacher,” Lumin Education uses the Parents as Teachers (PAT) home visiting program for children up to age five.  The curriculum incorporates the use of specialized learning equipment made primarily from low-cost or recycled materials.  Using supplies and instructions we provide, you or your group can make these items, and Lumin’s in-home instructors will use them with the families we serve.

With materials and instructions provided by Lumin, create items such as:

  • Baby mobiles
  • Color matching games
  • Shape matching games
  • Tummy-time textured blankets (sewing required)
