Part-Time Fatherhood Initiative Specialist
Reports To: Lumin Bachman Lake Community School and Home Visiting
School/Program: Lumin Education – All Campuses
Primary Work Site: Lumin BLCS/Lumin EDCS
Hours/Status: Part-Time, 10 hours per week, 250-day year

Description:
This position will lead the planning and organization of 3 fatherhood meetings per week and two workshops per year for fathers in our Home Visiting program. Meetings to include both Lumin East Dallas and Lumin Lindsley Park fathers. Requirements of the position include experience working with families, fluency in Spanish and English, facilitation skills, and the ability to work with diverse groups.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the program and its activities
- Plan, organize and facilitate three Fatherhood meetings per week at 1 to 1.5 hours in length and 2 workshops per year – 4 weeks of 2 hour/weekly sessions
- Follow the approved curriculum for the Fatherhood Initiative
- Conduct pre and post-tests for all participants of the Fatherhood Initiative
- Arrange speakers for special topics
- Recruit fathers across all campuses
- Ensure the implementation of policies and procedures
- Maintain budget and track expenditures/transactions following the purchasing
- Help build positive relations within the Fatherhood
- Schedule and organize meetings/events and maintain agenda
- Ensure technology is used correctly for all operations (video conferencing, presentations )
- Prepare paperwork and order material
- Keep updated records and create reports or proposals
- Support growth and program development
- Lead three weekly Fatherhood Initiative meetings in both English and Spanish
- Incorporate Communication for Couples and Love & Logic workshops once a year at each site for the Fatherhood Initiative
Requirements:
- Associate’s degree required, Bachelor’s preferred
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Ability to lead and inspire fathers
- Proven experience working with families
- Ability to facilitate meetings
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Ability to work with diversity and multi-disciplinary groups of people
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
